Zone Captains are an essential part of The Prepared Plan. These volunteers assist in the implementation of the plan within the Zone plan area. They are crucial in training, relaying and compiling retrieved reports from the Block Captains and households. Zone Captains work with block captains and households to submit reports and when needed requests to the Area Coordinator for volunteers and volunteered equipment and supplies to respond to needs in their zone.
Zone Captains should be able to assign temporary assignments to others in place of Block Captains as needed if they are unavailable. They should determine contingency plans for when block captains are not able to be reached. If possible there should be another person able to be reached in the stead that the Zone Captain is unavailable.
Each Zone Captain should have a ready copy of the area map and CAPTAINS LISTS
