Block Captains are an essential part of The Prepared Plan.  These volunteers assist in the implementation of the plan within the Block plan area.  They are crucial in training, relaying and submitting reports to the zone captains.  Block Captains work through Zone Captains for households to submit requests to the Area Coordinator for volunteers and volunteered equipment and supplies to respond to needs in their block.

Block Captains receive initial instructions from the Zone Captains and do a physical inspection of their block and submit an Initial Damage Assessment Form to the Zone Captain as quickly as possible.  Block Captains should determine contingency plans for backup captains when they are not able to be reached.

Each Block Captain should have a ready copy of the area map and CAPTAINS LISTS
